Just when your appetite for writing college essays has waned, Thanksgiving rolls around, and suddenly you are staring at four glorious days of food, football, and…..scholarship application deadlines. Needless to say, soaring tuition costs makes leaving money on the table neither wise nor practical. If you are applying to a school with a December 1 scholarship application deadline, you may need to put aside your regular decision essays and work instead on your scholarship applications. In many cases, the applications involve little more than writing one additional essay. Some schools, however, require applicants to be “nominated” by their high school principals before their scholarship applications will be accepted. Checking your deadlines and planning ahead will ensure that you reach your goals. So this weekend, be sure to have fun and enjoy some great food, but remember to leave some room for writing.
