The College Board has seen an upward trend in both the number of students taking Advanced Placement Courses and in their performance on those exams.
According to the College Board, over the past ten years, there’s been a 70% increase in the number of public high school graduates who have taken an AP exam and the number who have scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam. In absolute numbers, last year more than 1.17 million students took AP exams. Nearly 4 million AP Exams were administered! Of those exam takers, more than 700,000 students scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam, compared to 423,067 in 2007.
